Insecurities can be daunting. In a society where everything has a standard is terrible.
You are not free to express yourselves. The standards that they have created is limiting you to become your best self.
Insecurities is a social construct. It does not exist unless you are informed with the society’s standards. Take me, as an example. I am not insecure with my height or my body. But as I grew up, I just wake up feeling insecure with the way I look and I know, social media has a great influence for this. I was just a happy person loving myself yet the love turns to insecurities which is not good.

An insecurity can have types.
1. Insecure by the way you look
2. Insecure by your life status; and
3. Insecure with your relationships
But all of this should not be forever, right? At some point in our lives, we want to make something new that we know is reflected beyond our true selves.
We want to be happy.
We want to enjoy life.
And that is the purpose of this blog right now. To help you cope with your insecurities. For the focus of this blog, I want to share with you 5 things you can do to overcome your insecurities physically.
Now remember that overcoming your insecurities is not an overnight process. It also takes time.
Yes, t-i-m-e. TIME.
If you cannot invest time for yourself, then you cannot follow these things I will share to you.
In the first place, you have to understand that every human existing here on earth have something they are insecure about. Even the celebrities that you looked up to or even the sexiest girl you’ve seen in the magazine. There is no exception.
Since insecurities exist to everyone, that should at least comfort you. Right?
Take me as an example, having a discoloration to other parts of my body does not make me insecure but because I tend to see girls around with their flawless skin, and because it seems like “white is the standard”, it feels like my skin does not makes sense at all.
It is okay to feel insecure but ask yourself “Why?”. Take a journal with you and reflect on yourself.
Acceptance is the key. The feeling of being insecure but you still accept and realize how amazing you are is still underrated.
It is also important that you are surrounded with people who boost your confidence as well. Sometimes, our insecurities come from our environment. Creating positive environment will help you to at least avoid being insecure all the time. Having friends who accept who you are, following people who inspires you, or cleaning your social media newsfeed are one of the examples.
Then plan how you can improve. What could be the smallest thing you can do to become your ideal self? If improving means money, you can save a little penny every day, or study hard to treat yourself in the future. Your future self can wait.
As I have said, overcoming your insecurities is not an overnight process. You must accept yourself and love it first, then a miracle will follow. One day, you will never know, you wake up feeling satisfied and happy.
In short, have time and take care of yourself because by that, everything will surely follow.
